Colorado River Aqueduct Pump Stations

Our crew successfully sandblasted the lead-based paint from the I-beams that support the service crane at the Lake Havasu Intake Pump Station for the Colorado River Aqueduct . This critical step was necessary to facilitate the ongoing maintenance of the nine massive water pumps at the station.

This particular intake pump station is one of four identical pump stations that we sandblasted, all of which play a vital role in moving water from Lake Havasu all the way to Lake Mathews and various points in between. To accommodate the Metropolitan Water District’s schedule, our dedicated crew worked eighteen consecutive 12-hour night shifts.
